Erjharn Carrington Gomes, a driven resident from Waltham Forest, has recently taken a major step towards building the life he envisions for himself by attending the Construction Operative Training Scheme (COTS) course at our training centre in East London, SIMIAN London Academy of Sustainable Construction (LASC). With the hope of establishing a stable career and bettering himself both personally and professionally, Erjharn’s journey is one of determination and growth.

The desire to gain foundational knowledge in the scaffolding industry is what the COTS course at SIMIAN has provided him. The knowledge gained from attending the course has empowered him to work confidently on-site, putting his skills into practice with his employer, Lee Marley, a trusted name in the industry. Erjharn is now actively contributing to scaffolding projects and gaining hands-on experience which is vital for his long-term career success.

Beyond the technical skills, the COTS course has been beneficial in boosting Erjharn’s personal growth. He has overcome a significant hurdle that most face – the challenge of public speaking and engaging with others confidently. By participating in the course, he has developed the skills needed to succeed in the scaffolding trade and the self-assurance to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with his team.
