Pavel Babinack – A Local Resident With A Lifelong Commitment to Construction

At 66, Pavel is preparing to embark on a new chapter in his career by attending a Basic Scaffold Inspection course at SIMIAN’s LASC Training Centre.

Pavel Babinack, a local resident with a profound passion for construction, is living proof that the drive to enhance skills and knowledge doesn’t lessen with age. At 66, Pavel is preparing to embark on a new chapter in his career by attending a Basic Scaffold Inspection course at SIMIAN’s LASC Training Centre.

Pavel’s journey in the construction industry began when he was just 16, and over the years, he’s built a career in the construction industry, working on various projects and in various countries. As a self-employed professional, Pavel has always taken pride in maintaining high standards in his work. Now, as he prepares for a significant nine-month contract in Newcastle starting this September, he’s more determined than ever to ensure his skills are up-to-date.

To prepare for his upcoming contract, Pavel has chosen to enhance his expertise by attending the Basic Scaffold Inspection (BSI) course at SIMIAN LASC Training Centre. This course equips learners with up-to-date health and safety knowledge and the relevant considerations to be made when undertaking scaffold inspections in pursuance of the Work at Height Regulations 2005.

“Being self-employed means that I’m responsible for my own training and ensuring that I’m always at the top of my game,” Pavel explains. “The construction industry is constantly evolving, and I want to make sure I’m always delivering the best possible work. In the UK you must be compliant and everyone needs to ensure they are safe whilst at work and take ownership not just for themselves but for those around them too.”

For Pavel, this isn’t just another training session—it’s an opportunity to deepen his understanding of scaffold safety and ensure that his work continues to meet and exceed industry expectations. “I’ve seen the importance of proper training throughout my career,” Pavel says. “This course will help me not just with the Newcastle contract, but with any future projects as well. Safety is paramount, and I want to be confident in every structure I work on.”

Pavel’s commitment to continuous learning, even at 66, is a testament to his dedication to his industry. It also highlights the supportive learning environment here at SIMIAN LASC, where professionals of all ages and experience levels are encouraged to grow and develop their skills.

As Pavel looks forward to starting his new contract in Newcastle, he does so with a renewed sense of purpose and confidence. “I’m excited to apply what I’ve learned and ensure that every job I’m involved in is up to the highest standards,” he shares. “There’s always something new to learn in this industry, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to keep growing.”

Pavel Babinack’s story is an inspiring reminder that in the construction industry, there’s always room for growth and improvement. At SIMIAN, we’re proud to support professionals like Pavel, who are committed to maintaining high standards and ensuring safe working practices across the UK.
