Rianne's Scaffolding Journey: Determination Leads to Part Two Triumph

After five years of hard work and unwavering determination, Rianne has achieved her goal of becoming a Part Two tube and fitting scaffolder. Her scaffolding journey has been one of persistence, personal growth, and the tremendous support of SIMIAN at LASC.

“It still hasn’t sunk in if I’m honest,” Rianne shares. “I’m still in shock that I’ve come this far on my scaffolding journey. Five years of hard work and determination has led me to this stage and I’m so happy!”

With her new Part Two qualification, Rianne has her sights set on progressing to become an advanced scaffolder and an SSSTS supervisor shortly. “The sky is the limit,” she says.

Rianne thanks SIMIAN and Sara Calvo tremendously for supporting her throughout the journey. Even when she had to take a four-month break from work last year and cancel her initial Part Two course, SIMIAN never lost faith. “They believed in me and knew I would get back to work and wouldn’t give up,” Rianne explains.

Reflecting on the highlights and toughest moments of her journey, Rianne recalls the support she received from her employer when her grandmother passed away as one of the most significant moments. “I wanted to give up Scaffolding,” she admits, “but the support I had received got me through a difficult time in my life.”

On a personal level, Rianne’s journey has also brought about positive changes. “It has helped me in such a positive way,” she shares. “I am very confident about myself now.” As a reward for her hard work, Rianne is looking forward to her first-ever holiday to New York

When asked if she would recommend SIMIAN to others, Rianne’s answer is. “Yes, I have recommended SIMIAN to a few people that I know,” she says. “I have explained the continued support that SIMIAN gives to everyone who decides to choose them for their training courses.”

Addressing the issue of gender diversity in the scaffolding industry, Rianne acknowledges that it hasn’t been easy being one of the few females in a predominantly male-dominated industry. However, she is quick to add that the support she has received from her male colleagues has been invaluable. “If you give it your all, you’ll always get support from the lads,” she advises other females considering entering the industry. “If I can do it, any female can!”

Rianne’s journey serves as an inspiration to anyone striving to achieve their goals despite facing obstacles along the way. With determination, perseverance, and the support of others, anything is possible. As Rianne looks to the future, she does so with optimism and excitement for what lies ahead in her scaffolding career.
