Waltham Forest resident Jake talks to us about his continuing journey at SIMIAN LASC as a Scaffolding Apprentice.

In this interview, we have the privilege of speaking with Jake, a dedicated Waltham Forest resident who is carving his path to success through a scaffolding apprenticeship at SIMIAN LASC. Jake's journey serves as an inspiring testament to the ambition and determination that fuels the dreams of young individuals in the local community.

Why did you want to get into a career in Scaffolding?

The reason I wanted to get into Scaffolding is, my father is also a Scaffolder so I already knew a bit about the industry and also to make him proud, which is a big thing in my family. Also, the endless career paths you can do down with being a scaffolder – health & safety, scaffold designer, site management etc.”

How would you rate the SIMIAN LASC training centre?

The facilities at SIMIAN LASC are great, and with them only being a 15 minute walk away from my house in Waltham Forest, is a bonus! The staff and the facilities itself are fantastic, all the teachers are experts in their knowledge so you are learning from the best everyday when you are here.”

How has SIMIAN LASC helped you to develop your career?

I am coming to the end of my apprenticeship, and really looking forward to being a Part 2 Scaffolder, knowing that the world will be my oyster after this. I will be sad to see the end of the journey with my classmates and the course but hopefully I will be back to do my advanced course here.”

Would you recommend a Scaffolding Apprenticeship at SIMIAN LASC?

An apprenticeship is a great choice after leaving school, there are so many opportunities out there, just in this facility alone there are three different trades you can learn. So big thumbs up for apprenticeships.”

We wish him all the best in his future scaffolding career and look forward to supporting him in his future training requirements.
